Welcome to J Strategies, Mia Tommins!

INSIGHT Mar 1 2021

We are excited to welcome our new Intern, Mia Tommins, to the J Strategies team. Mia is currently a senior at Fordham University and is anticipating to graduate in May with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and a minor in Psychology.

“J Strategies caught my eye when I was introduced to the firm by a friend. I could tell immediately how J Strategies was not just a ‘check the boxes’ kind of company, but somewhere where client relationships and care for one another were truly valued and emphasized,” says Tommins.

During her time at Fordham, Mia has worked as a news reporter for WFUV 90.7FM, an NPR affiliate radio station. Mia traveled all around the New York City area to report on stories that she pitched, wrote, edited, and produced — an experience that gave her an opportunity to meet and connect with many different people, all while getting the chance to tell their stories.

Mia also writes for her school newspaper, serves on Campus Ministry as a lector for Sunday mass, is a member of the student government’s committee on sexual misconduct, and serves as an orientation leader for incoming freshmen. Prior to the pandemic, Mia studied abroad in London and Madrid, which were one of the highlights of her college career, gaining a new appreciation for different cultures and people.

While not at Fordham, Mia can be found at F45 Training in Fairfield, Connecticut, the fitness studio where she works in her hometown. She is also a long time lover of musical theater, and has spent her summers choreographing musicals.

“Thank you to my colleagues for the trust and responsibility they have given me over the past few weeks. I’ve learned more through this experience than any other professional endeavor prior, and I’m so appreciative of the fact that the people on this team are looking out for me, and truly want to help me learn and grow,” she continued. “After all, that is an intern’s biggest dream!”
