Tess Morrissey, Vice President of Policy and Strategic Affairs, brings her passion for community relations, coalition building, and advocacy to J Strategies. Tess works with clients to develop sustainable and effective engagement campaigns built on her relationships with advocates across New York State
Before joining J Strategies, Tess was the Director of Community Relations and Deputy Director of State Relations at the University at Buffalo. In this role, Tess served as UB’s lead staff member, policy advisor, and liaison in matters concerning community relations. She focused on building meaningful and impactful relationships with neighborhood associations and community organizations. Tess also helped to plan and implement advocacy with the state legislature, elected officials, and agencies. Tess began her career in Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration, serving as the Director of Scheduling to Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy, and has also worked at Empire State Development.
Tess has a Master’s in Business Administration from the University at Buffalo School of Management and currently resides in her hometown of Buffalo, NY where she can be found running the streets training for marathons.
